Education
I am currently working as an Education Consultant with The Henry Ford. I am faciliting curriculum writing with local teachers for lesson plans that bring together ideas of social justice and civics with objects and stories held in the collection at the Museum and in Greenfield Village. I also reserach possible educational programs for informal education groups, like scouts, and the general public.
Evaluation
During the Spring of 2009 I participated in the New Directions Project, an IMLS-funded program, within the Museology program at the University of Washington. I helped design and conduct a summative evaluation for Coffee: The World in Your Cup, an exhibit at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture. Read our final report on InformalScience.
I finished working with the New Directions project in June with a presentation of a summative evaluation of East by Northwest, an exhibit at the Northwest African American Museum.
I have successfully defended my masters thesis, “Trivial Pursuits?: A Summative Evaluation of Trivia Night Public Programs”.

Program/Exhibit Design
In the spring of 2009 I took a Participatory Design class with Nina Simon through the Museology program. Nina helped our class create a museum experience focused completely on getting strangers to talk to each other. The exhibit was called “Advice: Get it, Give it, Flip it, F*k it” and was open for 3 days on the University of Washington campus. We also used social media outlets to give and receive advice that are still accessible.
During the summer of 2009 I interned at the Museum of History & Industry in Seattle in the Public Programs department. I helped launch one of their newest programs, Pub Trivia Nights, aimed at attracting a young adult audience and encouraging the public to make history a part of everyday life. Follow MOHAI’s Twitter to see when and where the next trivia night will be.
